Information for Patients

Our goal is to make the processes during their stay and treatment as transparent and understandable as possible for our patients. Our team is always available to assist you with any questions you may have.

Your First Appointment

What do you need to bring to your first appointment at our Clinic for Hematology & Stem Cell Transplantation?

You will need your health insurance card, the referral or admission slip from your general practitioner or specialist. Additionally, please bring medical documents such as previous findings, your current medication list, your allergy pass if applicable, and your vaccination certificate.

Inpatient or Outpatient Stay

During your inpatient stay, our specialized team will care for you around the clock. Accommodation is provided in single or double rooms, or in special isolation rooms for stem cell transplantations.

Many therapies, including infusion treatments, check-ups, or follow-up examinations, can be performed on an outpatient or partial inpatient basis. Please arrive punctually for your appointments and allow sufficient time. The nursing team on site will assist you with all your questions.

Hygiene & Protective Measures

To protect our patients from infections, we adhere to strict hygiene rules. Therefore, visits may be restricted in some cases, and wearing protective clothing (face mask) may be necessary.

Hematological-Oncological Day Clinic

In our day clinic, we offer you intensive medical treatment during the day, after which you can return to your familiar home environment. Please arrive punctually for your appointments and allow sufficient time.

Psycho-oncological Support

A cancer diagnosis represents not only a physical but also a psychological burden. Our psycho-oncological service is available for our patients and their relatives. Please use the psycho-oncological services of the Evang. Kliniken Essen-Mitte.

Studies

Our patients have the opportunity to participate in national and international clinical studies to expand innovative therapy options.

This enables us to use new, innovative, and developing substances for the treatment of our patients under quality-controlled conditions, thereby significantly expanding therapeutic possibilities.
