Naturopathy & Integrative Medicine
Naturopathy means that we attempt to alleviate your symptoms using natural methods. The fundamental naturopathic pillars are: hydrotherapy, nutrition, exercise, phytotherapy, and regulatory therapy / Mind-Body Medicine (development of a sustainable, health-promoting lifestyle). We supplement these with advanced naturopathic procedures and treatment techniques such as acupuncture, neural therapy, moderate hyperthermia, leech therapy, or cupping. Scientifically proven naturopathic procedures are used in the process. Integrative means that naturopathic treatment is provided as part of state-of-the-art conventional medical care. Our treatment approach combines conventional medicine with scientific naturopathy and Mind-Body Medicine.
Multimodal Pain Therapy
Pain is a major medical challenge. Approximately one in five Germans suffers from chronic pain. The most common types of pain include back pain, headaches, nerve pain, wear-related pain (joint osteoarthritis), and pain affecting the entire body, such as fibromyalgia syndrome. Pain is considered chronic if it lasts longer than six months, and sometimes even after three months. As the duration increases, pain affects the psyche. This can lead to a loss of joie de vivre and to depression. Chronic pain can thus develop into an independent clinical picture, chronic pain disorder. In such cases, inpatient treatment may be advisable.
In our treatment, we follow the guiding principle “Act and Treat.” External therapies are intended to alleviate symptoms. To achieve a generally better sense of physical well-being, we also provide our patients with the knowledge and skills to gain control over their illness, which makes long-term improvement possible. Pain has many causes and therefore requires complex therapy – which goes beyond mere medication adjustment.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
Today, we understand TCM to include the core pillars of acupuncture, medicinal therapy, Tuina massage therapy, Gua Sha reflex therapy, dietetics, and Chinese movement theory, Qigong, and Taijiquan. This traditional medical knowledge changed dynamically in many directions and on different levels, similar to the development of healing arts in the West.
Traditional Indian Medicine (TIM) / Ayurveda
Traditional Indian Medicine, also known as Ayurveda, is one of the oldest healing arts in the world and stands for healthy living and the treatment of diseases. It is characterized by the holistic perception of individual patients as individuals with personal responsibility. From the perspective of Ayurvedic medicine, every individual consists of the three fundamental elements: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. If these so-called doshas become unbalanced, this can manifest as symptoms and illnesses. The goal of Ayurvedic therapy is to restore the balance of the doshas.
Mind-Body Medicine (MBM)
A central basis of our work is regulatory therapy, one of the five pillars of classical naturopathy. Pastor Sebastian Kneipp once explained that those who are ill need “order in the soul and in life.” A balanced lifestyle with sufficient exercise, healthy eating, and stress management contributes to this. Thoughts and feelings are also important, as there is a close connection between the psyche, body, and behavior. We have supplemented regulatory therapy with Mind-Body Medicine (MBM) to include aspects of modern stress and lifestyle research. A key focus is the training of mindfulness and self-care.
