About Us
We, the Evangelical Hospitals Essen-Mitte (KEM), are one of the leading medical care providers in the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region, with three locations in Essen, 23 specialist clinics, around 1,000 planned beds, and approximately 2,800 employees.
The care of all our patients is based on the latest scientific standards and meets the highest medical and nursing standards. This is our daily commitment and has already been recognized with multiple awards. We see ourselves as an interdisciplinary organization spanning medicine, nursing, and administration.
We maintain, promote, and develop our highly specialized treatment quality through a qualified concept of internal continuing education and training.
In addition to the regularly held mandatory continuing education sessions (PFB) for the various professional groups within each department, we also offer internal specialized training sessions (IBF) on a voluntary basis. These IBF sessions are conducted by the individual departments specifically for their respective professional groups. We currently offer IBF sessions in the areas of clinical care, nursing, administration, and services.
We care not only about the professional development of our employees. We also offer a varied prevention and sports program, as well as attractive options for balancing work and family life. Support with daycare (KiTa) placements at all three locations, as well as social support services and extensive offerings for the care of family members, are just a few examples of what we provide.
